The only part that can't be bought, directly or indirectly, with gold is the Vision Crystals. Those require 5 bloodstone bricks, 5 dragonite ingot, and 5 empyreal stars. The lesser crystals require 2 of each. Farming them takes awhile, but they also bleed in to your inventory for doing most things in the game.
Triumphant Hero's armor. Triumphant Hero's armor is a level 80, WvW -exclusive Exotic, Ascended or Legendary armor set. Each ascended or exotic piece can only be acquired once the equivalent Triumphant armor (tier 1) piece has been unlocked. Armor pieces are purchased with WvW Skirmish Claim Tickets, earned by participating in World versus World .
Also don't forgetyou can swap stats on ascended gear - if you follow the steps. Just type it in and the process is straight forward. To stat change a piece of Ascended Armor, you'll need the following materials: The original Ascended Armor; 1x Exotic Inscription of the desired new stat set; 5x Glob of Ectoplasm
This will get you one free set of ascended armour, which you can choose minstrels stats. By this time, you'll have some magnetite shards and may have had one or two lucky weapon drops to get your tank weapons. You'll also get some inscription and/or insignia chests from completing each raid the first time.

Ascended trinkets have stats that already include the equivalent of jewels. There is absolutely zero reason to worry about infusions unless you fall into one of these categories: You fractal (in which case AR+x infusions are fine; you don't need stats)
You're wrong and probably confusing ascended with exotic precursors drop which may pop from anything, almost any container - world bosses chests included, while ascended gear drops only from mentioned already Tequatl and Triple Trouble in open world - unless anet stated specifically that world boss xyz has included ascended gear in its loot pool.
except, you can salvage them. Buy an ascended salvage kit from a laurel vendor, costs 1 laurel and 1g per item. You can also, buy it from fractal vendor and save the laurel, pay 2 fractal relics instead. You can also buy them for 1 gold and 2 fractal relics, which is way better than using a laurel for that.
