Currently you do have to shut it down manually. You can toggle the lane detection from your controller so it's not that big of a problem. Go for any of the better rated traffic mods (most of them are pretty good) and use the following console commands with a higher value up to 10.0: g_traffic x.x (1.0 is standard) g_lod_factor_traffic x.x (1.0 is standard) That should help a bit.
