For those of you who want to skip the prologue here is an easy way to fast level you character (spoilers if you don't want to ruin leveling) Right after the zombies appear to chase you, turn around and run down the other hall. These zombies chasing you are level 50.

Below are the training spots which are best for each ranged level. You should basically stick around Lumbridge for the first 20 levels, move on to Barbarian Village for levels 20-40 and then move on to Hill Giants. Once you reach level 60, you can start training at Moss Giants which offer the highest experience per hour for F2P Ranged training.
